Line Board

A line board (or visual line plan) is the visual layout of a season’s styles — arranged by category, delivery, and price — that lets a design and merchandising team see the whole range at once and balance it before it is finalized.

The line board is where commercial structure meets creative intent: it shows whether the range has the right newness, price architecture, and category balance, not just whether each style is good on its own.

When the line board is connected to the buy and the assortment plan, the design intent it captures survives intact into what is actually bought and produced — instead of being re-keyed and drifting.
